    According to United Nations, an estimated 200 million people globally live outside their motherland. Nearly 3.1% of the immigrants make up the total world’s population. The US comprises of nearly 42 million more legal and illegal immigrants than any other nation.

     Across the globe, especially in developed nations, governments are facing huge local public pressure to increase border enforcement and security. America has progressed so well with the help of legal immigrants and they have made the country great by boosting the economy, but the recent surge by the illegal immigrants who have usually indulged in criminal activities are posing a great threat to the nation. This is affecting the legal immigrants who are working in the community as they are also looked upon.

     Illegal immigration need to be stopped for better growth and economic conditions. In order for a country to be global, legal immigration needs to be measured and long term needs and strategies need to put forth.
