Every person’s dream is to become an US citizen without any kind of hurdle. On getting green card citizenship, one can go for naturalization. US citizen is by two ways either by birth or through naturalization. Below are few steps to naturalization:

If you are 18 years old and have a permanent resident for at least five years or three years if married to a US citizen, and after meeting all the eligible requirements, one can be eligible for naturalization.

• On meeting all the basic requirements of becoming a US citizen, Form N-400 needs to be applied for naturalization.
• Biometrics checks needs to be completed before USCIS schedules for an interview. All applicants needs be fingerprinted for criminal background checks conducted by Federal Bureau of Investigation.
• On completion of preliminary processes, USCIS will schedule an interview that will complete with the naturalization process. It is important not to miss out the interview.
• If granted USCIS will approve your Form N-400, provided the evidence on record establishes your eligibility for naturalization. If not it will be denied for not being eligible for naturalization.
• Usually Oath ceremony will take place on the same day as your interview. Only after taking Oath of Allegiance at a naturalization ceremony, Certificate of Naturalization will be received, that is you become US Citizen.
