• Is an executive order that will prevent the deportation of over 5 million people on its way?
  • Washington, D.C is abuzz with talk that an executive order is on its way – one that could prevent as many as 5 million people from getting deported out of the country.

Though details of the grandiose plan are still being worked out by the officials there are deliberations that the executive order will soon be out.

Some sections of the media stated that the details of the plan were still being created – it was said that the key part of the plan would enable the immigrant parents of American citizen children to work in the county. This meant that these immigrant parents could continue to reside in the USA. The order is expected to come through this week, when the President of the United States will return from an official trip to Asia.

A news channel stated that the Administration plan involved the integration of 10 proposals that includes enhancing border security, increased pay for immigration officials and intensive action on immigrant children and their parents. Though no specific date has been given by the Administration about the executive order release officials are optimistic that it will be released soon.

The proposed executive order is not as ambitious as the one last year – which was to have given legal standing to around 8 million undocumented immigrants. But last year the plan was repeatedly stalled, as the Republicans stated that it amounted to granting official licence to people who were staying on in the country illegally.

President Barack Obama has stated that he would definitely take action by the end of the year, but other larger, more pressing concerns could jeopardise the order from being passed. There could be newer priorities that could take up majority of the time in the House. Republicans in the Congress have warned the President that his action on Immigration might not be fruitful after all, and could endanger bipartisan cooperation in the last 2 years of his president ship.
