According to the information provided by the insiders, Obama likely to announce his executive actions for immigration reform in the next week. He will not consider the pleas and threats from the Republicans who won the November elections. Not to forget that the Republicans have warned Obama not to act single-handedly on the immigration issue or they will kill any immigration reform.
Obama announced in the June 2013 that he will use his special executive power to fix the broken immigration system of the nation. However, he postponed this decision due to November elections and numerous requests from the Democrats.
Obama’s executive plan may grant legal immigration and work permits to some 5 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States. They will not have to worry about the cruel deportation policies and can happily stay and work in the United States just like normal citizens. However, Obama will not grant permanent residency or citizenship to the illegal immigrants as he will need support of the Republicans to execute that action.
The comprehensive immigration bill was passed in the Democrats-majority Senate in June 2013 with 68-32 votes; however, it was never brought to vote in the House as the Republicans were in the majority there.
