• What you expect from Mr. Obama’s executive action?
  • Okay. So finally elections are over and the nation is waiting to listen something from President about immigration. However, Obama administration already announced that threats from Republicans will not affect Obama’s decision to use his executive power. In June, 2013, Obama announced that he will use his presidential power to come up with immigration reform. However, due to November elections, he postponed it.

Democrats and other immigration advocates want Obama to come up with something profound like controversial 2012 executive action, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which allows immigrants who entered in the United States in their childhood can stay and work in the United States.

Nobody exactly know what Obama will come up, but as per the rumours, he will extend his 2012 executive action by prohibiting deportation of millions of immigrants and will provide them work permits. Experts say that the most Obama can do is legalize the immigration status of immigrants, but can’t offer them Green Card or citizenship as he needs Congress for that.

Furthermore, political experts believe that Republicans will pass immigration reform in the upcoming two years as they very well know the importance of minority voters in the upcoming presidential elections.
