Members of the Congress stated they would not stop pressing the administration until immigration officers stop the detentions entirely.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe remain strongly convinced that no family \u2013 regardless of status \u2013 should be housed in jail-like facilities for any length of time,\u201d they said in a joint statement. Hundreds of detained mothers and children have been released by federal officers from the nation\u2019s family detention centers as part of a promise to end long-term detention of migrant families.<\/p>\n
