The applicant\u2019s passport or some other photo identification should be presented at the time of appointment for the Immigration Medical.<\/p>\n
The applicant should also present to the Civil Surgeon the appointment letter.<\/p>\n
The medical examination will include a complete body review, physical examination, chest X-ray and blood tests for syphilis. All this will be conducted by the USCIS-approved Civil Surgeon.<\/p>\n
At the time of the examination the eyes, ears, nose and throat, extremities, heart, lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, skin and external genital will be examined.<\/p>\n
If the applicant is appearing for the Green Card Medical outside of the United States the results of the exam will be sent by the panel physician to the U S Embassy\/Consulate directly. This is the routine followed in some countries. In some countries the applicant will be given the results in a sealed envelope and x-rays which have to taken for the interview.<\/p>\n
Please note that the Immigration Medical is not a complete physical examination. Its purpose is to prove that the applicant is eligible for immigration to the United States.
