The main purpose of the medical exam for <strong>green card<\/strong> is to rule out any danger to public health and safety when the applicant resides as a citizen or resident in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Medical conditions are classified into \u201cClass A\u201d or \u201cClass B\u201d. Any medical condition that the applicant has, which falls into \u201cClass A\u201d makes him or her inadmissible to the United States.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The following 4 conditions as stated by CDC are those that would make the applicant inadmissible in the United States:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c individuals who are found to have a communicable disease of public health significance, including, chancroid; gonorrhea; granuloma inguinale; acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV\/AIDS); Hansen\u2019s disease (infectious leprosy); lymphogranuloma venereum; infectious state syphilis; and infectious tuberculosis (Class A TB)\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cImmigrant visa and adjustment of applicants who have not received all of the necessary vaccinations.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIndividuals who have current physical or mental disorders, with harmful behavior associated with that disorder, or past physical or mental disorders, with associated harmful behavior that is likely to recur or lead to other harmful behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cIndividuals who are found to be drug abusers or drug addicts\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other medical conditions may fall into Class B Category \u2013 these could be granted waivers, depending upon the conditions.
