It also depends on whether the Green Card Applicant is currently living inside or outside the United States.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main categories are :<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Through family<\/li>\n<li>Through employment<\/li>\n<li>Through a Refugee or Asylee Status<\/li>\n<li>Other categories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What defines a\u00a0Green Card Holder (Permanent Resident)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Green Card holder or a permanent resident is a person who has been accorded with authorization to live and work in the United States permanently. As evidence of this status the applicant is given what is a permanent resident card, or what is also called a &#8220;Green Card.&#8221; An applicant can become a permanent resident in several ways. A family member of employer residing in the United States usually sponsors the immigration applicant. An individual can also become a permanent resident through refugee or asylee status, or even through humanitarian programs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Processes and Procedures: GREEN CARD MEDICAL EXAM- an important process!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We shall soon take a look at the process of applying for a Green Card inside the United States and the steps that lead up to the final destination of becoming a Green Card holder!
